Classified as a historical monument since 1905 and built during the XIth century by the counts of Eguisheim, we are facing here the second highest castle of Alsace with its 940 meters of altitude. Works were carried out in the 16th century in order to adapt it to the artillery, which are weapons and war machines.
Its name "Hohnack" comes from "Hohen Acker" which means "upper field". It is the ramparts as well as the keep that one will be able to see without forgetting the panoramic sight on the valley of Munster and Kaysersberg that this castle offers to us.
