Located in a Maginot Line pillbox on the edge of Hatten, the Museum tells the role of the casemate on the Line and in the 1939-40 campaign as well as in the fierce battle of Hatten-Rittershoffen in January 1945 – the last major tank confrontation in the Second World War, during which it was attacked first by the Germans and then by the Americans. Numerous pockmarks are still visible today.
