This opulent-looking column shaft with a globe on top is from the Renaissance and is actually a reproduction: the original one is displayed in the Museum. The fountain's basin is also an exact copy of the original built in 1911.
On the side, bas-relief carvings feature interwoven geometrical shapes and allegorical figures, surrounded by fruits and birds. Water comes out of four valves protruding from animal mouths.
