The stained-glass window of the Chapel in Champenay
Lieu
67420 Plaine
Champenay, an unincorporated hamlet in the town of Plaine, is home
to this work commissioned by the Plaine town hall and created by
Lothar Quinte and Sibylle Wagner. The artists designed and produced three stain-glassed windows for the recently restored chapel in
Champenay.
The creative approach of the artists is clearly visible in the windows'
well thought-out design. Both from an aesthetic and a spiritual perspective, they are a harmonious addition to this place of religious
contemplation. As a way of enhancing the interaction with light, the
artists opted to engage the three primary colours, a choice which
discreetly coincides with the worship of one God revealed in three
persons.
Located in the hamlet of Champenay. To visit the chapel, request the
keys of the owners of the houses up the hill from the chapel.
